LG 벨벳폰 5월 출시 (LG VELVET)

LG전자가 자사 스마트폰에 ‘G’와 ‘V’를 사용하지 않기로 했습니다. 브랜드 전면 개편을 통해 19분기 연속 적자를 이어가고 있는 스마트폰 사업의 부진을 탈출하겠다는 의지를 표명했습니다. 새롭게 개편되는 스마트폰 브랜드는 과거 ‘초콜릿폰’ 시절처럼 제품 특성을 반영해 그때그때 달라집니다.

LG전자는 지난 4월13일 새 플래그십 스마트폰의 이름을 ‘LG 벨벳’으로 결정했다고 밝혔습니다. LG전자는 “부드럽고, 유연하고, 매끄러운 특징과 손에 쥐었을 때 느낄 수 있는 편안함과 개성을 표현하기 위해 벨벳을 선택했다”라며, “벨벳에서 연상되는 고급스러운 이미지처럼, 신제품의 세련된 디자인이 고객들에게 직관적으로 전달될 것으로 기대하고 있다”라고 설명했습니다.

출시는 5월 중 예정
