삼성전자 가성비서 캐릭터 '샘(SAM)'

지난 주말 커뮤니티와 트위터, 틱톡 등을 중심으로 삼성(Samsung)이 화제로 떠올랐습니다. 삼성전자 판 '여성 가상비서'로 알려진, '샘(Sam)' 때문입니다. Sam은 사만다의 약칭이면서, 동시에 SAMSUNG의 맨 앞 3글자를 따온 이름입니다. 그래서 영어권 커뮤니티 사이트에선 둘을 합친 Samantha Samsung이란 명칭으로 통하고 있습니다.

일부에선 샘이 삼성전자의 인공지능(AI) 비서 ‘빅스비’를 대체할 것이라는 전망도 내놨습니다. 이에 삼성전자 관계자는 “샘을 공식 캐릭터로 채택하지 않을 것”이라며 “브라질 외의 지역에서도 사용할 계획이 없다”고 밝혔습니다.
