버진갤럭틱(Virgin Galactic), 리처드 브랜슨 첫 우주관광 시험 비행성공

 

영국의 버진그룹 회장 리처드 브랜슨이 첫 민간인 우주 관광 시범 비행에 성공했습니다.

 

브랜슨 회장은 미국 뉴멕시코주의 스페이스포트 우주센터에서 자신이 소유한 기업 버진 갤럭틱의 우주 비행선 '유니티'를 타고 이륙한 뒤 우주 공간에 머무르다 무사히 귀환했습니다.

 

우주비행선 '유니티'는 모선인 '이브'에 실려 발사됐고 16km 상공에서 분리돼 자체 추진력으로 고도 89km 부근까지 도달한 뒤 하강했습니다.

 

브랜슨 회장의 우주 관광 성공에 이어 테슬라의 일론 머스크가 설립한 스페이스X도 오는 9월 일반인 4명을 지구 궤도에 올려보낼 계획입니다. 또한, 아마존의 창업자 제프 베이조스도 자신이 세운 우주 탐사 기업 블루오리진의 우주선을 이용해 우주 관광에 나설 예정입니다.

Branson took off from Spaceport Space Center in New Mexico on his own company Virgin Galactic's spacecraft "Unity" and returned safely after staying in space.

 

The spacecraft "Unity" was launched on its mother ship Eve, separated from the sky at 16 kilometers, reached an altitude of about 89 kilometers on its own momentum, and then descended.

 

Following Branson's success in space tourism, SpaceX, founded by Tesla's Elon Musk, plans to send four ordinary people into orbit around the earth in September. Also, Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, will go on a space tour using a spaceship from his space exploration company Blue Origin.
